A weekend in "Happy Valley"

Saturday night after work I took a little trip to Provo to visit my long lost friend Makelle. When I arrived, Mike and Matt came and picked us up for a date. Mike and Makelle were on a blind date, as was Matt and I. The evening started with a place called Velour. The place is a safe haven for local bands and college kids to spend a not so quiet night. The entertainment was pretty great. Following Velour we went to Wal Mart and bought things to make crapes. While there, Matt proceeded to entertain not only us, but the entire population of Wal Mart. He succeeded in frightening a man who dared try and snatch the last carton of strawberries, scolding a hispanic woman for staring at Makelle who was riding in a wheelchair so Mike looked like a saint taking out a handicap, and infuriating a Wal Mart assosiate who watched him throw packages of socks at me. Super. Needless to say I spent the entire escapade laughing. After almost getting kicked out of the store we headed over to the boys apartment to make our treat. We stayed for quite a while and had a good time. Matt thought he would be comical and randomly knock me to the floor and try and wrestle. "This is a half-nelson" he says-- "This is a full nelson" he says. "This is my elbow smacking your nose" I said only slightly annoyed. Who rubs their blind date's face into the carpet? Sheesh. By the end of the night however HE was the one with bruises. I'm vicious. I blame dodgeball.

The next day was the Sabbath and as such Makelle and I hit the institute building for some spiritual development. Normally one who despises the singles ward scene, I was rather impressed with the lessons (there weren't any lookers so get that idea out of your head). After church we went back to Makelle's and with some friends made dinner. It was stupendous and I realized that if I tried to live on my own right now chances are very good I would starve. The weekend was fun and it was great to see Makelle. Maybe one day I'll be a big kid and move out... or maybe not.

hmm.. he looks pretty cute Amber. Not so sure about the whole Full Nelson thing but you could probably train him to be a little more gentle:)
