Last night Dewy and I played a double header. It was toward the end of the first game, which started at six, and I had just hit the ball. Dewy was coaching first base, and I was standing on first base. All of a sudden I hear in the distance someone behind me scream "MRS HODGES!!!!" What the.... I turn around and entering the Weber County Fairgrounds are three of my 9th grade students equipped with a poster that says "Go Mrs Hodges! You Rock!"
In class we were talking about what we were doing that night, and when asked I said I had a softball game. They proceeded to ask where and when and I said "Oh no. We are not having that conversation. You are not coming. End of story." They kept asking questions. Is it before 5pm or after 5pm? Is it at the Fair Grounds? Except for saying that my game was sometime after 5pm I remained silent.
They found me. At the end of my first game. They stayed all through the second game and cheered Dewy and I on. Kolten, Pepe, and Brea. You made my night--after I got over being slightly embarrassed. I promised to put the posted up in my room.
I. Love. My. Job.
